The Missouri Immunization Coalition (MIC) members unanimously voted Dr. Henry Irvin as the new Southwest Regional Representative during the recent General Membership meeting held on September 19th. Dr. Henry Irvin grew up in rural Southern Illinois and received a Doctor of Pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  After graduation, he and his wife moved to the Branson area to be close to her family and their favorite place on earth, Table Rock Lake.  He served the area as a community pharmacist at a large retail drugstore for nearly 20 years before joining Faith Community Health as a clinical pharmacist.  With the help of Dr. Heather Lyons-Burney, PharmD, and many others, they worked to open the first Charitable Pharmacy in the state of Missouri in February of 2023.  As Executive Director and Pharmacist in charge of Neighbor’s Pharmacy, Dr. Irvin works to help provide access to medications and pharmacy care to the underserved and uninsured patients in Branson and the surrounding areas.  When chain pharmacies first started providing immunizations in 2008, Dr. Irvin’s location was among the first in the country to offer influenza vaccines all day without an appointment, providing over 1,000 vaccines in the first year.  His goal is to provide the same access to much-needed vaccines through Neighbor’s Pharmacy for the uninsured population of Southwest Missouri.

This is a significant milestone for Dr. Irvin and the Board of Directors of Missouri Immunization Coalition. Congratulations to Dr. Irvin on this well-deserved achievement!
